2026 Year 9 Teams
The 2026 Year 9 camp was hosted over two day Tuesday and Wednesday 20th & 21st of January at Burnside Park. The camp was lead by Zac Tait with support from BWCUCC Premier Players Nick Gibb and Englishman Ben Wright. NWYC 1st XI players Olly Upjohn, Alex Guillemot, Will Timms, Bosilu Liyana Waduge, and Olly Fifield were also present to lend a hand with small groups.
Wednesday’s session began with a talk about Strength and Conditioning specifically for cricket from Greg King. We are incredibly lucky to have Greg available to come and talk to the Year 9s. He currently the S&C for Canterbury Cricket and in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings over the last 17 years and previously with the national teams for both India and South Africa. He knows what he is talking about.

Team selections are incredibly difficult for NWYC as we only a small window to select sides and with this in mind we have done our best for this coming term selecting players with the ability for the grade while also recognising and accommodating existing friends and high school relationships. If we need to make changes we will and we will be able to revisit this for term 4.
